The S&P 500 lost 4.1% of its value last week, although bonds recovered somewhat, with the yield on 10-year U.S. Treasuries returning to its October 3 levels of around 3.14%.

In political news from Washington, Nikki Haley resigned as the ambassador to the U.N., and the Trump Administration faced increasing pressure to confront the Saudi government over the crown prince’s role in the planned murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
